The Big Lou elevation bar serves to keep your picking hand at a very consistent elevation over the strings, and the lower part of this bar also provides for an enhanced anchor point for your pinky finger (in addition to the Pinky Slot). Used together, your brain will learn a faster, how to position your hand for improved picking accuracy. For very advanced players who may not need this elevation bar, it can be removed by pulling it away. It is attached to the pick guard by double stick foam tape.
