By popular demand for a quality wide nut hollow body, we have developed our Big Lou Joker. This guitar is available in two finishes. The Sunburst finish features a 1 7/8″ nut width, and the Royal Blue features the 2″ nut width. It weighs an easy 8.5 lbs. This is a bold and beautiful instrument with an arch top design and dual humbuckers. There is a 3 way selector and dual tone and volume controls. Big, bold and beautiful, for the real players out there. Lot’s of room for large fingers. If you have big fingers and wanted a wide body for your collection, this is a great way to go. I recently purchased the Big Lou Joker with the 2 inch nut. Right out of the box the guitar exceeded my expectations. The fit and finish are very good. The intonation was perfect and I use a stroboscopic tuner to be sure. I play very light so I adjusted the action and filed the nut grooves on the high E, B and G strings to get the perfect height. I changed out the tuners for Steinberger 40/1 gearless tuners for the ultimate in tuning accuracy. All guitars should come with these tuners. Now I would put this guitar up against any hollow body for tone and playability. I can play it for hours without finger fatigue and I can get any tone I am looking for. I have thick fingers so I chose the 2 inch nut. I couldn’t be happier. I can play complex chords without muting strings. This is, for me, the best guitar I have ever owned and I have spent far more on other guitars. If you are considering purchasing this guitar go ahead and buy it. You won’t be disappointed. It plays, looks and sounds way above it’s price point. I have a friend who has a Gibson 335 and he can’t believe this guitar sounds and plays better!
I want to thank Big Lou for making this guitar. I am 72 years old and have been playing since I was 12. This guitar is the first guitar that satisfies all of my wishes for the perfect guitar. Buy it.
