I learned guitar on wide-neck instruments and spent years trying to make standard electric necks work for my hands. They never did. I played better music by adapting—but I was always fighting the guitar.
Right before our last tour, I got a Big Lou with a 2â…›" nut. Instantly, everything changed. My hands relaxed, my picking improved, and the guitar finally felt natural. It felt like the instrument was built for me—not the other way around.
Playing live is nerve-racking, and having a guitar that gives me real space makes all the difference. Other players are always shocked by how easy it is to play.
My Big Lou Cobra is now my only touring guitar.
